WILD BERRIES


      Cranberries (Vaccinium oxycocus)
 

Also known as bounceberries. Cranberries grow wild on acid-peat soils. They produce a tasty fruit with a very pungent odour. Very popular for sauces.
The harvesting season in Lithuania lasts from October to middle November. New season trading starts at the end of October. We can supply only frozen produce.

 
 


      Billberries (Vaccinium myrtillus)
 

The European species is known as bilberry, whereas the North American variety is known as blueberry. Bilberry grows in pine and fir woods on level semi-shaded areas and on heathland. The unique 'bilberry flavour' is only found in the wild bilberry. The harvesting season in Lithuania lasts from June to late summer. New season trading starts at the end of July. We can supply only frozen produce.

 
 


      Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L)
 

Well known in Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltics, these berries have huge potential in food prossessing and pharmaceutical industries. Used to make juices, jams and very valuable oil.
The harvesting season is Septemeber. New season trading starts in the beginning of October. We can supply only frozen produce.
